Sophia has arrived!!
Our little angel is here! Sophia Marie Kindom. Born 09.27.09 at 1:45am. She weighed 8lbs 1oz, 21in long. She is so precious and more then we could ever ask for! Nate and I feel very blessed! Here is my birth story:It all started at 530am on Saturday 09.26.09 (my official due date). I woke up after having contractions in the middle of the night and had some bloody show. I didn’t know what this was and because of the contractions, we decided to go to hospital. We got to the hospital at about 630am and they monitored Sophia and my contractions. I was dilated to a 3cm and 80% effaced, some progress from my doctors visit the day before. At about 830am they sent us home since we were only in early labor. Once we got home the contractions started to pick but were not regular. I did everything i could to relax and rest. At 221pm my contractions were regular every 9 min. I decided to take a shower and a bath to see if things could speed up. My contractions then starting coming between every 3-6min. I laid down again and the contractions stayed coming regular every 6-9 min getting stronger in intensity and lasting a min long each. At about 8pm we decided to go drop off Meeka at my parents and head back to the hospital because the pain was getting worse and worse. Well on the way to the hospital my contractions starting coming every 3-5min for the hour it took, so it was a good decision we went in. When we got back to the hospital they monitored Sophia and my contractions again. I was now 4cm dilated and 100% effaced, so I was admitted. Once we got settled in our room the nurses suggested walking for 20 min, so Nate and I did. Once we got back to the room I asked for the epidural cause the pain was so intense. The anesthesiologist came and gave me the epidural and then the nurse checked me and I was at 7cm dilated! What progress! Shortly there after I went to an 8 1/2 cm, then 9 3/4 and then a 10! This was in a matter of 30-45 min! They did end up having to turn the epidural off because i was numb up to my shoulder blade and that was too high for them. At this point I felt the need to start pushing but the nurse said to wait and let her head drop some more, boy was that difficult! The epidural wore off and I could feel everything but the contractions and they gave me two options, to start pushing or get more epidural and be in labor for 2-3 more hours. I decided to start pushing. 50 min later our beautiful daughter was here! -
39 weeks and still 1cm dilated..
We had our 39 week check-up today. Sophia’s heartbeat was 146 and I am measuring on track. The doctor wondered about her being breached so she sent us for an ultrasound. (I knew she wasn’t). We got to the ultrasound and Sophia is head down, her head is just high up still. Everything else was measuring great! We got to see our beautiful little girl again, and she was sucking her thumb! We cant wait to meet her! Unfortunately I think she is comfy where she is right now, no new changes from last week. Still only dilated to 1cm. We scheduled a ultrasound and a stress test for next week to see how Sophia is doing in her comfy home. We are hoping things progress and we deliver her before then. We are getting very anxious to meet her!

No new progress..
We had our 38 week check-up on Thursday. Everything is going good. No new progress since last week. It looks like she is still waiting to arrive into this world! We are very excited to meet her and cant wait! Her heartbeat was 160 and am measuring right on track. Next appointment in a week!

Full term..
We had our 37 week check-up today! Everything is measuring on track! Sophia’s heartbeat was in the 150’s again and she was moving around like crazy! The doctor had a hard time getting her to stay in one spot to hear the heartbeat! I am 1cm dilated as of today and she said that Sophia is head down! yay! She also guessed Sophia to weigh around 6.5lbs as of today!
Some exciting news, I will be considered full term as of Saturday the 5th!! I will be 37 weeks that day! I will update after my appointment next week! -
36 weeks..
We had our 36 week appointment on Wednesday. And everything is measuring right on track. Baby Sophia’s heartbeat was in the 150’s again and sounded wonderful as ever! I am going every week now and the doctor will be checking on Sophia’s progress for delivery at the next coming visits! We are getting really close! We also have our birthing class on Saturday and the hospital tour. That should be informative!
We also went and had some maternity photos taken and Angela was amazing, she is a great photographer. I will update more next week!

34 week update..
We had our 34 week appointment today. Everything is going great. Baby’s heartbeat was in the 150’s and I am measuring right on track. I have been getting some swelling, but the doctor is not concerned. She thinks it is due to the heat. My next appointment is in two weeks and then I go every week! I cant believe how close it is!
We are also taking a birthing class on 08.29.09, which should be very informative. And we got a great deal on a maternity/newborn/3 mnth/6 mnth/ and one year photography package. We are going for the maternity photo shoot next week hopefully! Cant wait!!

Uncomfortable at 33 weeks..
Things are going great with the pregnancy, just have been getting quite uncomfortable when it comes to sleeping or sitting for extended periods of time. Only 6 1/2 weeks left and we cant wait to meet our little girl! I also had 2 baby showers so far, and we got some great stuff. My work is also throwing me a shower at the end of this month and we are having one other shower in September, cant wait!! We feel so blessed to have such great, loving family and friends!
We have decided on the name Sophia for our little girl, and currently her daddy is trying to decide on a middle name, so stay posted for that!
I have another doctor appointment on wednesday, so I will update then! Also here are two new belly pictures 33 weeks pregnant.

32 week appointment and 3D ultrasound
We had our 32 week appointment today (a few days late). Everything is great! I am measuring 33 weeks, and the doc told us she doesnt think we will be having a small fry. That is good in so many ways, but one (delivery). Heartbeat was great, she was sleeping at the time. The next appointment is next week. I will update then.
We had our last 3D ultrasound this past saturday, and I posted some pictures. She is beautiful! Plus I think we have decided on a name, stay tuned for that!!
