  • Sophia’s Dedication.

Sophia got dedicated yesterday! It was a beautiful day, but SOO hot out! The dedication was perfect and then we all (nates family and my family) went out to brunch at Rockwoods, and that was some good food!

Sophia is also teething again! She is drooling everywhere, runny nose and fussy. She just wants to be cuddled by mom.. I <3 that time with her, but not under the circumstances of her little gums hurting! 🙁 She is getting her top teeth in, will be interesting to see if its 2 or 4!

Sophia also now gets on all 4’s and rocks, she just needs to get her arms and legs moving together! At times she gets her back legs going but her arms just dont cooperate, and then she gets quite frustrated. Soon she will though! I cant wait for that milestone! She is also pulling herself up on things, and loves standing! She is getting to be such a big girl!

    Sophia’s dedication:

Sophia’s family who are standing up for her,
dedicating to teach her about God.

On a side note, we have her 8 month pictures on fri 05.27.10 and cant wait for that!
  • Crawling???

Sophia is such a joy and is developing the BEST personality! She laughs all the time and it just melts our heart and makes us smile! She also has been trying VERY hard to start crawling. She will only attempt from sitting up and she lunges forwards and gets both her hands on the ground and one leg, she just cant figure out yet how to flip out that last leg. When i put her on her hands and knees she sits there and starts rocking back and forth. It is soo cute! I uploaded two pictures that we took last night in her attempt to start crawling.

Happy Mothers Day! We hope all the wonderful mom’s have a great day!
  • Picasso with oatmeal..

On Friday (04.23.10) after Sophia was full from dinner, I let her feed herself with the remaining oatmeal! She had such a blast! At first she used the spoon, but after one attempt she tossed it to the side and used her hands to take the remaining oatmeal from her bowl and use it to become an artist on her highchair tray. She had oatmeal EVERYWHERE! But she had a great time doing it-so it was well worth the mess. I finally got a shot of her teeth, unfortunately it was right before she was going to start crying. She DID NOT want to be done playing when it was bath time..

    Enjoy the pictures!

PS. Sophia is going to be 7 months tomorrow! Time flies!
  • Up on all fours…

Sophia is going to be 7 months in 8 days! I cant believe it.. ( I say this every post ) but my how time flies! She is getting so big. Some new developments are that she is beginning to lunge forward when she is sitting to get on all fours. She will be crawling soon i have a feeling! She had also been sleeping in her own room, in her crib and she is doing a FANTASTIC job! Although the first few nights i was up all night checking on her! She is also teething again and is quite the fussy little girl! So, hopefully those teeth pop thru soon! 🙂 Nate and I are hoping to bring her to the Twins game soon, we will see how that goes.

She has her 8 month photo shoot with Angela on May 28th! Cant wait!

She played in a ball pit for the first time and was scared and hesitant at first, but then ended up having a blast! Here she is playing. 🙂

  • Dreaded teething..

Sophia is teething! Its official, I can see the two bottom teeth coming thru! It should be any day now and she will have her first teeth! We have also started her on baby food-veggies and fruits! So far she loves sweet potatoes and applesauce and pears! She is not a huge fan of bananas! She is sitting up so good by herself, and leans forward like she wants to be on all fours to crawl but the rest of her body doesn’t cooperate yet. Which sometimes leads to her falling over! She LOVES sitting on her own and playing. Sophie now weighs 16.5 lbs! Such a big girl! We have her official well child visit on 04.02.10 so I will update her stats then! She will be 6 months on Saturday! We cant believe it!

Even though she is teething & crabby, she is still ADORABLE! Chewing on Sophie the giraffe, and some letter teething toys.

Some cute pictures for good measure .. She is so happy and smiley most of the time!
    Playing in her exersaucer..
Sitting in a shopping cart at costco like such a big girl! She was so proud..
    SOOO happy!
  • Big girl highchair..

Well Sophia is in her big girl highchair!! We were feeding her in the bumbo chair, with the tray that comes for the bumbo, but she was getting to the point were she was turning in every which direction and I was worried it would tip. So we moved her to the highchair and she does GREAT in it! She eats better, and she even gets excited when we go to put her in it! She knows its dinner time soon!

  • Grandma Julie’s Birthday!

It is grandma’s birthday today! Happy Birthday Grandma!!

We tried rice cereal with Sophia last week, and she was hesitant at first but she did GREAT! She is a bit of a messy eater (maybe mom is a bit of a messy feeder?), but she is very good at eating and swallowing it all! I uploaded some good pictures of her first bites!

Sophia is getting so big! We can hardly believe it! She is doing better at night sleeping, even slept one night almost the whole night! Whoo hoo! She slept from 8pm-430am. She is also very good at sitting by herself (tripod like) and does alot better on tummy time. She also is laughing now! She has the CUTEST little laugh, we love it! She laughs at her cousin James and she loves to laugh at Meeka!

Sophia will be 5 months in a week, I cant believe it. Time has flown by and our little girl is getting so big. I cant wait to see her next milestones!

  • BEST gift ever!

BEST GIFT EVER! –This is what Sophia’s onesie says in one of her Christmas outfits. Sophia definitely is the best gift ever in our life! She is growing so much! She is such a smiley baby, and is now recognizing Nate’s and my voice and face, and that is priceless – the smile on her face when she sees us! She is also discovering so many new things playing with her gym matt and also with many different toys. These days she has sooo much to say as well!

Beyond precious, and she is the BEST Christmas gift ever!

Some updates- I am now back to work, sadly enough! 🙁 I am working part time this week of Christmas and then next week I am back working full time. These next two weeks my mom and Nate’s grandma are going to be watching Sophia and then Nate’s grandma will be watching her full time! We feel so blessed that his grandma is going to be watching Sophia, that way its family and she is surrounded by her loving family! — I wish I could stay at home though, I don’t want to miss any of her milestones!

Nate is still working at RAHR and he loves his job, not the commute. But its a job. We just went to his company holiday party and he works with a great group of fun people! We are also blessed that he has this job and enjoys what he is doing. Also that there is many opportunities for advancement.

Also I graduated college, I received a AAS degree in Practical Nursing! YAY!! I will be taking my boards within the next few months and be a nurse! One day I will go back to school for RN, but not for awhile, I want to spend time with my little angel!

Sophia has her next appointment in 4 weeks and I will update more then and with Holiday pictures.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and New Year!!
  • Sophia, 8 weeks old and shots ..

Sophia had her 2 month well child visit on 11.27.09 and that went well, except for the shots. She now weighs 11 lbs 1 oz and is 22 3/4 inches long. She is in the 58% for her weight and 68% for her height. The doctor said that she looks great and made the comment how strong her neck muscles are. Many people make this comment cause she can hold her head up very well 🙂 She also got her shots, 3 of them 🙁 She hated it and so did I watching her cry. She is doing well after receiving the shots, just had a slight fever. Other then that she is amazing us more and more everyday. She is smiling all the time and talks to us alot everyday! She is also more on a schedule which is beneficial for her and mom, yay! I cant believe my maternity leave is almost up, I am already missing her!

Other then that, Nate is loving his job and I am loving staying home with Sophia. Now I know why moms stay at home with their babies! Sophia has her next check up at 4 months of age.
Here is a family photo and one with me and my beautiful girl 🙂
  • My growing girl..

Sophia is growing more and more each day! She is now around 9.5lbs and is no longer in newborn clothes! Yay! I am really enjoying spending time at home with her, she melts my heart and makes me smile every day! Her sleeping schedule is still in some ways a difficult one, since her days and nights are still messed up. But once she gets to sleep she can sleep for 5-6.5 hours a night! She is just an angel. Her next appointment is when she is 8weeks, which is in 3 weeks. I have added some new pictures of Sophia at 6 weeks old, she is such a doll!

On a side note, Nate is loving his job!
